W.e.f 1st April 2022, following are the types of applications which can be done by investors in IPOs:

| 1 | Retail | up to Rs.2 Lakhs |
| 2 | HNI Small | Rs.2-10 Lakhs |
| 3 | HNI Large | more than Rs.10 Lakhs |

Each investor can apply in only one of the above categories per IPO.
Some IPOs may also have additional categories such as shareholder category, employee category which would be open for eligible investors.
